How To Connect The Solar Panels To The Controller

When the solar panel is connected to the solar power station, it is best to use a photovoltaic controller, which can control the output voltage of the solar panel, which can protect the battery from being overcharged, and it can better prevent it at night when the power is not used. The reverse flow of solar power.

Solar panel: Solar panels are the core part of the solar power generation system and the most valuable part of the solar power generation system. Its function is to convert the sun's radiant power into electric energy, or send it to solar power for storage, or to drive the load to work. The quality and cost of solar panels will directly determine the quality and cost of the entire system.

Controller: The function of the controller is to control the working status of the entire system, and to protect the solar power station from overcharge and over discharge. In places with large temperature differences, a qualified controller should also have the function of temperature compensation. Other additional functions such as light control switch and time control switch should be optional options of the controller.

Generally, the solar panels need to be connected to the controller.
Steps are as follows:
step 1: Connect solar powerBefore connecting the solar power station, make sure that the solar power station voltage is higher than 6V to start the controller. If the system is 24V, make sure that the solar power station voltage is not lower than 18V. The system voltage selection is only automatically recognized when the controller is started for the first time.
When installing the fuse, pay attention that the maximum distance between the fuse device and the positive pole of the solar power station is 150mm, and connect the fuse after confirming that the wiring is correct.

step 2: Connected load
The load end of the solar controller can be connected to two DC power devices with the same rated working voltage and solar power voltage, and the controller uses the solar power voltage to supply power to the load.
Connect the positive and negative poles of the load to the load terminal of the controller. There may be voltage at the load end, so be careful when wiring to avoid short circuits.
A fuse should be connected to the positive or negative lead of the load, and the fuse should not be connected during installation. After installation, confirm that the insurance is connected correctly.
If the load is connected through the switchboard, each load circuit has a separate fuse, and all load currents cannot exceed the rated current of the controller.

step 3: Connect the photovoltaic array
The controller can be applied to 12V, 24V off-grid solar modules, and grid-connected modules whose open circuit voltage does not exceed the specified maximum input voltage can also be used. The voltage of the solar modules in the system must not be lower than the system voltage.

step 4: Check connection
Check all the connections again to see whether the positive and negative poles of each terminal are correct, and whether the 6 terminals are tightened.

step 5: Confirm power
When solar power supplies power to the controller, and the controller starts, the solar power LED indicator on the controller will light up, pay attention to whether it is correct.

Now mainstream solar panels do not require additional controllers, they all have built-in controllers.
