1. What Is RO Water Filtration?
Reverse osmosis (RO) pushes water through a fine membrane under pressure. This process removes:
- Dirt and sediment
- Chemicals like chlorine and pesticides
- Heavy metals (lead, arsenic)
- Most dissolved minerals (calcium, magnesium)
You get almost pure, safe drinking water.
2. Does RO Water Really Lose Minerals?
Yes. RO removes up to 99% of minerals. But:
- Tap water has low minerals. Typical tap water has about 50–200 mg/L of total dissolved solids (TDS).
- Minerals from water are small. Even if you drank 2 L of tap water, you’d get only 100 – 400 mg of minerals.
